Aniyah Monae is an emerging multidisciplinary artist and aspiring master cutter from Louisville, Kentucky. Her practice spans installation art, conceptual art, costume design, tailoring, garment construction, pattern making, weaving, illustration, and textile-based art, with a focus on the relationship between technical craftsmanship, material knowledge, and cultural storytelling.

Working across fashion, theatre, opera, and contemporary art contexts, Aniyah approaches making as both a skilled trade and an artistic practice. Her work is grounded in a commitment to traditional craft techniques while exploring their relevance within contemporary culture. Through garments, textiles, and mixed-media works, she investigates identity, labor, history, and the social significance of clothing.

She is particularly interested in the preservation of traditional making methods, the intersection of craft and contemporary art, and the role of clothing as a site of personal and collective memory. Drawing from experiences across performance, fashion, and visual art, her work bridges disciplines while remaining rooted in the belief that mastery is built through sustained practice, technical rigor, and a lifelong dedication to learning.
